Fits our existing scopes
CSSD Supervisor, Shree Hospital Verified purchase
Standard fitting seated our 4 mm arthroscope with no adapter needed. Straightforward.

Both obturators supplied
Dr. Ritu Chawla
Good that the blunt and sharp come as a matched set rather than as an upsell. Using the sharp for full insertion is how cartilage gets scored, so having both is important.

Brass needs slightly more care
OT Technician, City Care Hospital Verified purchase
Performs well and the diameter is exactly what we needed. Softer than steel so we handle it a bit more carefully in CSSD, which is expected.

No tap seizing after many cycles
Dr. Priya Ramanathan
This is where our previous sheaths failed within a year. These have autoclaved repeatedly with the taps still turning freely.

Taps stay clear of the hand
Dr. Manish Rawat Verified purchase
Positioning is well thought out — the taps do not foul the grip during the procedure. Flow is adequate for a knee.

Slim enough for small joints
Procurement Head, Medicare Group
We use the paediatric sheath for wrists and ankles where the standard simply will not go. Irrigation still keeps the view clear, which was my concern before ordering.

Q
Are both obturators included?
Asked by Nurse Manager, Lotus Multispecialty · 07 Aug 2026
AYes, the blunt and sharp obturators are supplied together as a matched set. Both are needed — the sharp to cross the capsule, the blunt to advance into the joint without scoring the articular surface.

Q
Will this fit our existing arthroscope?
Asked by CSSD Supervisor, Shree Hospital · 22 Jul 2026
AIt takes standard 4 mm arthroscopes on the Storz fitting. If you use a different scope fitting, tell us the make and model and we will confirm or supply the correct pattern.

Q
Do the irrigation taps seize over time?
Asked by Dr. Suresh Pillai · 17 Jul 2026
AThey should not. Tap seizing is a common failure in cheaper sheaths and these are built to avoid it. If a tap becomes stiff, contact us rather than forcing it.

Q
Why is the paediatric version brass rather than stainless steel?
Asked by Dr. Sunita Deshpande · 09 Jul 2026
ABrass allows a thinner wall while keeping the shaft rigid at reduced diameter. It is softer than steel, so it wants slightly more care in handling and cleaning — that is the accepted trade for the smaller size.

Q
When would I need the paediatric sheath rather than the standard?
Asked by Dr. Ritu Chawla · 19 Mar 2026
AFor paediatric knees and for small joints in adults — wrist, elbow and ankle — where the standard sheath will not fit the working space. It maintains twin irrigation despite the reduced diameter.
